The traditional approach of adding an Operations Support System (OSS) and sometimes Business Support System (BSS) silo per service or technology is not sustainable. Consulting: Working collaboratively with our clients, Alcatel-Lucent assesses the best-fit business models, evaluates core assets that can be exposed to support innovative new applications, and leverages Alcatel-Lucent’s experience in operations transformation and managed services to consolidate silos and plan for industrialization.
Operations Enablers: Many CSPs wish to establish APIs for safely exposing back-office functional and management services to provide new revenue sources and increased agility. In addition to network enablers such as location and presence, CSPs can provide significant value by exposing their operations capabilities to support end users or for a wholesale/retail model. Alcatel-Lucent helps CSPs expose the right sets of operations enabler APIs and perform OSS/BSS enhancements as needed, in a secured and multivendor environment.
Dynamic Management:Industrialization delivers a streamlined, efficient approach to managing partners, applications and assets. Alcatel-Lucent employs the concept of dynamic management to establish industrialization, where the OSSs/BSSs are essentially self configuring for each new service, application or partner that is onboarded through a pre-configuration of operational models and templates. Dynamic management is achieved by applying industry best practices and tools, including the incorporation of security and governance. This adds speed, visibility and control while avoiding an OpEx explosion.
