At the recent APCO public safety event which was held in Philadelphia from August 7th – 9th Alcatel-Lucent focused on three key aspects of our public safety offerings:

LTE Mobile Broadband –
The Striker 1 a cutting edge mobile command vehicle served as a dispatch center and we were successfully able to demonstrate the benefits of mobile broadband with day-to-day operational scenarios which included real-time video and voice information.  The live demonstrations were enabled with LTE band 14 for public safety with the Striker 1 and several partner products including a 2nd emergency vehicle whih was equipped with video provided by AXIS, and included iPads, P25 handhelds, and a drone.

Transformation –
Our transformation capabilities were showcased with a display of key IP/MPLS, microwave and optical equipment and a presentation on Alcatel-Lucent backhaul/WAN network transformation capabilities.

Innovation –
Alcatel-Lucent showcased the new innovative lightRadio™ which offers a ground breaking design for public safety LTE radio access networks for future use with macrocells to minimize cost and site requirements for additional capacity or coverage.
